In an unmatched turn of events, the original guitar player Juha Helminen and drummer Jyrki Siukonen of Kollaa Kestää finally linked the tribute stria to begin their possess brand of 1977 style Brit-punk. Resulting in Punk Lurex OK, the stripe debuted their self-released number one EP Tappajan Silmät/Paalimaja in 1994 and signed to Hiljaiset Levyt Records soon after. After a card ruffle that settled with P. Kaukonen (vocals/guitar), A. Väntänen (guitar), J. Sakki (basso), and J. Huovinen (drums), a swerve of releases resulted throughout the '90s. This discography includes 1995's Veljet, Siskot, 1996's Hatut Ja Myssyt, 1999's Prolex, and 2000's TV Smith & Punk Lurex OK: The Future Used to Be Better.

This male/female twosome from Los Angeles consisting of Statik and kaRIN chose the discover Collide to stand for the collision of techno, industrial samples, breakbeats, the ambient and stochasticity, and Gothic vocalization that influenced them. Together they blended the macho angst with a softer, aery aggression.


Spell Statik had played trumpet for a few eld during school, virtually of his musical education came from within by outgo endless months experimenting with samplers, computers, and music, until he realised his own mode of electronic wizardry. He did go to a music/engineering school in Los Angeles that helped him ground his number one studio task. Statik's number one solo project was called Statik: Machines. kaRIN sang spontaneously and consistently since a kid, and the lyrics she creates for Collide state unconscious, flowing emotions. Her former artistic passions include jewellery design, painting, and photography, with music being her front-runner.


Once Statik and kaRIN met, they knew they were on the same musical course. They self-released their number 1 cassette demo, The Crimson Trial, in 1995, and followed this with their number 1 uncut album, Below the Skin, a German signification, in 1996. The album as well included freshwater bass and guitar on some tracks. Re-Constriction released Distort in 1997. The re-mix album included favorites like "Pandora's Box" and "Violet's Dance." Compilations and singles became a strong means of locution and the duette sang or worked on tons of them, left a studio band. After basketball team years without a novel album, the Next Level judge released Chasing the Ghost in June 2001 with a few additions to the lineup: Tim Pierce (guitar), Fritz Heede (sitar), Kevin Kipnis (guitar), and Monica Richards (vocals), with Statik still in charge doing the racket, producing, technology, and intermixture.

Raveonettes, Little Ones gear up for free SoCal festival

The Raveonettes are gearing up to play their only US gig this summer at the Make Music festival in Pasadena on Saturday (June 21).

The Danish duo will take to the streets of old town Pasadena just outside of Los Angeles for the free inaugural event, and their first-ever gig in the city.

"We wanted to play a US festival this summer and we thought it would be fun," Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner told NME.COM.

While Sharin Foo -- the other half of the Danish duo -- prepares for the birth of her child, Wagner will perform with Foo's sister, Louise, who is standing in for her.

"If the American public want to see The Raveonettes without Sharin, it's their only chance," he added.

Southern California indie rockers The Little Ones are also set to perform at the event.

"We love Pasadena -- it's such a cool area and we thought the Make Music festival would be a great way to celebrate the summer solstice musically," The Little Ones frontman Ed Reyes told NME.COM. "The diverse festival exemplifies what Southern California is all about."

Also on the bill for the festival are Autolux, Kinky, Dengue Fever, Jesca Hoop and Everest.

Rudin, Baumbach team for 'Greenburg'

CANNES -- Mark Ruffalo and Amy Adams are attached to star in writer-director Noah Baumbach's next feature, "Greenburg," for producer Scott Rudin.


Plot details are under wraps for the film, which is said to be a relationship comedy-drama. UTA is shopping the project in Cannes and financing is currently being assembled. While no timetable is set for principal photography, Rudin is aiming to shoot later this year.


Rudin produced "Margot at the Wedding," Baumbach's 2007 follow-up to his breakthrough drama "The Squid and the Whale."


Adams is now shooting another Rudin project, Columbia's "Julie and Julia," and is set to wrap "Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian" by this fall. Ruffalo is filming Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" for Paramount.
